17 May 2021 - Earliest Re-Opening Date
From recent announcements we should see a return to brighter times, once again an opportunity in meeting up with our members and friends at Court Barn Conservative Club, a long-awaited event.
The Government message still comes with cautionary advice and developing guidance that could change the schedule, taking the positive news we would like to share some of the information with you. This includes advice from the Association of Conservative Clubs (ACC)
Whilst the PM announced that clubs can reopen as an outdoor setting from the 12th April 2021 members and guests can only enter the premises to use the toilet facilities, Ordering can only take place outside and customers must be seated. Whilst we do have a garden it's not practical for the club to make appropriate provisions with the restrictions in operating in such a format, let alone the ability to control the weather. The ACC are expecting most Clubs will be targeting the 17th May reopening date and supplies are back on stream from breweries etc.
All dates are subject to change.
17th May 2020
This is the earliest Court Barn can reopen for inside service.
There will be no 10pm curfew or significant meal requirement.
At this time it appears that table service will apply, only eating and drinking while seated.
"Rule of Six" will apply inside.
Outside groups of up to 30 can be permitted, whilst not expected, that will be only allowed if it is cost effective.
21st June 2020
All remaining restrictions removed. At this stage, it appears that there will be no specific Covid-19 related rules which Clubs will have to follow and therefore can operate as normal. Seems a massive step forward, so we will be monitoring the detail with care.
This has not been reviewed by the Government so at this time social distancing and the use of masks will remain mandatory. We do not intend to remove bar screens during the early days of changes. We have in our daily activities all become conditioned in using such measures, so we would expect these precautions may be difficult for everyone to easily abandon.
In line with the ACC advice we will start to schedule the AGM after 21st June 2021.
Opening will be our first significant step, in respect of entertainment indoors capacity will be limited to 50% of the venues capacity, we will need to clarify restrictions and plan for appropriate gatherings so we can once again safely enjoy the facilities of our Club.
We, as members, are responsible for Court Barn Conservative Club, especially in these unprecedented times, so getting back to enjoying the Club with all our friends remains the priority. With that in mind we very much appreciate our members continuing with their subscriptions, especially when we are forced to close.
Whilst having the honour of being your Chairman for this Special Club I would like to take this opportunity to also thank our Secretary, Treasurer, our staff, officers, committee and especially the members in standing by us.
Take Care All.
A very warm welcome to The Court Barn Conservative Club website. This provides information for existing members and
Situated approximately half a mile from Lee-on-the-Solent sea front, this fine old Grade II listed former farmhouse was first documented in 1666, and 300 years later was purchased as Court Barn Conservative Club.
Set in lovely surroundings with beautiful walled gardens and a large private car park, it offers comfortable seating, a well-stocked bar and a very varied and comprehensive menu.
We have an exceptionally experienced committee in place who work hard to provide the best service, entertainment and facilities for our members and their guests to enjoy.
The Club is Covid-19 Safe and we operate to the current government guidelines.
I hope you will take some time to explore the website and I look forward to seeing you in the club very soon.
My best wishes,
Court Barn Conservative Club
